The Day School year begins after Labor Day each year. The program is from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday through Friday.

The admissions process at the Day School is uncomplicated. Parents may download the application form here for the 2012-2013 school year, or phone the school to have an application mailed. The application and the $50 non-refundable application fee should be mailed to the Christ & Saint Stephen's Church, 122 West 69th Street, New York, NY 10023. Please make your check payable to 'Christ & Saint Stephen's Day School'.

Acceptances are sent out on a continual basis in compliance with terms set by the Independent Schools Admissions Association of New York (ISAAGNY).

Age Requirements for admission to The Day School

Children must be three years old on or before by September 1, 2011 for the Threes Program, and four years old on or before September 1, 2011 for the Fours Program.

The oldest church on the Upper West Side, Christ & Saint Stephen’s Church has long been woven into the diverse fabric of this exciting part of Manhattan.

We are proud to announce that in September 2011 we will launch an early childhood educational program for 3 and 4 year-olds that reflects our desire to provide a first-rate educational experience for young learners, enabling them to embark on a life-long process of self-discovery. The Day School will value the sacred and unique nature of each child and celebrate diversity and inclusiveness, hallmarks of both our multifaceted neighborhood and our Anglican tradition.

Our vision for The Day School is dedicated to fostering the imagination and creativity of young children in a setting that encourages cooperative play and discovery, learning respect for one’s self and others and growing confident of God’s love. Weekly chapel, appropriate to children of all faiths, will focus on celebrating the contributions all cultures make to the human family.

Award winning architects have teamed with experienced teachers to design a school built to serve the learning experience of young children. Students will spend time in the Outdoor Play Garden, the spacious Undercroft and upstairs Learning Center. Looking out onto a sunny courtyard, the upstairs area includes a Book Nook and Science Center, as well as a contemporary performance area for puppet shows, group gatherings, listening to guest speakers or exploring innovative topics such as Outer Space or the wonders of the alphabet.

We, as a community of faith for more than a hundred years, have been passionate about nurturing the highest and best values that lodge within the human heart. Now, with the launch of this excellent school for our youngest New Yorkers, we continue to dedicate our efforts to cultivate the minds and hearts of generations to come. Our goals are to teach our students to strive for self-realization and personal success, and to foster their appreciation for both traditional values and the rich complexities of the world.
